Correctional Officer Trainee - $28,000.00 - We will hire and sponsor persons wishing to become Correctional Officers. Successful candidates must take and receive a passing score on the Florida Basic AbilitiesTest (FBAT) or theCriminal Justice Basic Abilities Test(CJBAT). We will then enroll the student in the Correctional Officers Course held at the Southwest Florida Criminal Justice Academy in Fort Myers. This course is approximately 13 weeks long and includes physical conditioning and academic preparation for officers to take the State of Florida Correctional Officer Certification Examination. Once the officer passes the State Certification Examination then their pay will be increased to the corrections officer salary and enhancement pay will begin.
